![]() Dan Aument Youth and Family Ministry | Hey Friends, I am excited to be joining God’s church here at First Presbyterian Church of Carson City. It still amazes me that God – the creator of everything – desires to be in community with people like you and me. This church is just one small part of God’s plan to bring reconciliation and healing to the whole world, and it is an awesome privilege to share in that ministry. God has been working on me for a long time. I come from a Christian home and was baptized into the PC (USA). I first started wrestling with God in confirmation classes, where a healthy dose of C. S. Lewis helped me begin to trust that God was real. God taught me about Jesus’ saving work on the cross through a non-denominational youth ministry in high school. God continued to pursue me in college through His Word and Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship small groups and events (where I met my wife, Leslie – Bonus!). Leslie and I got married and moved to New Jersey so that I could attend Princeton Theological Seminary. My hope for our church is that we would live together with God’s glory continually before us. Jesus says, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:29-30) With the Holy Spirit’s help, we can let ourselves “be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 2:5) If you are tired of settling and hungry for meaning, come and join us as we draw near to the living God. God is good, Dan |
