Hello, I’m Alan Dorway and I am the Associate Pastor here at the First Presbyterian Church of Carson City.  I love being here and sharing with the congregation my passion for youth, missions, and the grace of God.  I was called here to Carson City right out of seminary and have served since 2001.  I have been extremely blessed to be a part of this wonderful and welcoming congregation for the past four years. I am married to an amazing woman, Elizabeth, and we live with our dog, Bailee, here in Carson City.  We hope to get to know you.  

Currently, I am very active with the youth, deacon, Bible study, and mission ministries here at FPC.  Our Youth Ministry is for students in grades 6-12.  We meet on Sunday evenings for fun, fellowship, worship, and study.  If you are in Junior High, we meet Sunday evenings from 5-6:30pm and if you are in High School, we meet Sunday evenings from 7-8:30pm in the youth room.  We have a very active Deacon Board and if we can serve you better, please let us know.  Recently, the Bible study I lead has been renamed to “Thursdays @ the Dorway’s”.  We are open to anyone willing to learn from the Bible and from each other on Thursday evenings.  Lastly, I share a heart of Christ’s work in and around us through missions.  Many people at FPC share this same heart and it means we are always thinking about ways to be involved in our community, nation, and world.  Stay tuned for many exciting opportunities to put your faith in action as we constantly strive to follow where God calls.
